The 39 Steps is a play about a man living an ordinary life, before he unwittingly obtains top secret information which threatens the safety of his life. This results in a wild and chaotic chase all over the United Kingdom, where he narrowly evades death on several occasions. Although it was only a cast of six, there were over 40 different characters within the show. Therefore, through the costume design, it was important to navigate the amount of characters in the show, and all the quick changes that would occur throughout it.
